When?
We currently meet Wednesdays 12-2 PST. You can attend either in-person in-studio or live online for a master class and then a lesson. I’d like everyone to attend “live” (but if you need to miss an average of one live session a month, you can make it up via recording). There will be 1-2 hours of homework each week, as well, which will often include a weekly quiz.

Who?
Our group of 10-20 Trainees will gather for 2 hours/week (you choose: either Online or In-Studio). To further the experience, our group will, also, be taking, or reviewing, the SAYF Training simultaneously along with the mentoring hours for the first Semester.

What will we be doing?
Our mentoring time focus will always include philosophy, pranayama, meditation and mantra. We will also be really refining and upleveling our language (including inclusive and trauma-informed language), pose options and deeper understanding of human movement mechanics so that every pose can be both practiced and/or taught progressively for all bodies, and so much more. The best asana teachers are teaching to people through understanding bodies and movement, not just repeating alignment cues or memorizing poses.  In addition to our scheduled 2 hours, you will will have access to the SAYF Training while you are mentoring, and will have email access to me during this mentoring time, as well.  As we get further along, there will also be practice teaching options (but only when/if you feel really ready) where I will give feedback to improve your teaching.

Your time commitment
3-4 hours/week (includes both SAYF study and email access, as well). You will earn 15 hours/month toward CEs, 200 RYT, or 300/500 RYT. Your monthly cost will be $199 via autopay until we feel you are done, or you choose to cancel.

How to register/purchase?
You can sign-up anytime to commit. $199/month autopay. This also INCLUDES access to the $499 SAYF 2.0 Training.

Once you’ve completed an RYT 200 Teacher Training, you have the opportunity to continue your training at the 500-hour level. This requires an additional 300 hours of training through a Yoga Alliance-approved Registered Yoga School (RYS). Our Teacher Training has been an RYS with Yoga Alliance since 2011. Before that, Stephanie began training teachers in 2000 through an international school where she was the Education Director.

We created a mentoring-focused, module-style program that can be completed within a customizable time frame that works for you; completing an RYT 300/500 within 1-3 years or over ten years. Each year, we offer intensives both domestically and internationally that can be applied towards your RYT 300/500 as you feel inspired to learn and grow as a practitioner and teacher. There are also some shorter (1, 2 and 3 day) trainings at our studio, and around the Northwest that also support your learning and growth.

Our Intensive format has proven to be an amazing opportunity for growth, connection, and transformation. Taking some real time away from everyday life to create a “pattern interrupt” creates the space to discover the essence of who you truly are. Community and travel to sacred locations are also a great benefit of our RYT 500 Program.

We customize our weeklong intensives for those who are attending (and we prioritize based on who is closest to finalizing their 300/500 to make sure they are satisfying all of the required Yoga Alliance standards for 300/500 RYT), here are some of the areas we can focus on.

Advanced Teacher Training Highlights

Our Advanced YTT is designed to refine your skill, deepen your wisdom, and help you embody yoga at a professional and personal level. Through personalized mentoring, SAYF methodology, and immersive study, you’ll graduate with the ability to teach, practice, and live yoga with clarity, confidence, and integrity.

Advanced Anatomy, Physiology & Biomechanics (SAYF)
You will learn to see and understand bodies with precision and compassion.
By the end of the program, you will be able to:
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of SAYF movement principles—accurately assessing joint alignment, movement patterns, and load to help prevent common yoga injuries.
  • Apply progressive and functional variations based on joint mechanics, strength balance, and individual structural differences, always choosing options that serve real bodies rather than aesthetics.
  • Describe skeletal and muscular mechanics during transitions, confidently naming joint actions, muscular engagement, and primary movers to guide students toward balanced and sustainable strength.
  • Explain how tissues are injured and adjust poses and sequences to reduce risk—using props, progressive pathways, and trauma-informed guidance to support safety across diverse bodies.

Lifestyle, Ethics & Yogic Living
You’ll bring yoga off the mat and into your life in meaningful, embodied ways.
You will be able to:
  • Apply the Yamas and Niyamas as daily life practices, preparing short weekly presentations that show how these teachings shape your choices, relationships, and personal leadership.
  • Integrate yoga philosophy into self-reflection, submitting weekly reflections on each sutra or concept and describing how it influences your lived experience.
  • Model a lifestyle of steadiness, contentment, moderation, and integrity, making choices rooted in self-awareness, personal responsibility, and yogic ethics.

Ethics & Business for Yoga Teachers
You’ll learn to run your teaching life with clarity and integrity.
You will be able to:
  • Demonstrate professionalism and ethical communication, honoring commitments, maintaining boundaries, and upholding ahimsa, asteya, saucha, and the studio’s Code of Conduct.
  • Make sustainable and respectful business decisions, valuing your time, energy, and expertise while staying aligned with svadhyaya and ahimsa.
  • Create ethical professional relationships, rooted in non-harm, confidentiality, equity, and respect.

Advanced Practice Skills (Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Mantra, Mudra, Kriya)
You’ll deepen your own practice to support your growth as a teacher.
You will be able to:
  • Maintain a consistent personal practice and articulate how asana, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy support your inner clarity and growth through weekly mentoring reflections.
  • Create practices using advanced SAYF methodology, choosing or offering progressive options based on energy levels, physical capacity, and mental state.
  • Explain the effects of meditation, mantra, and mudra, including scientific insights, and confidently lead these practices in class settings.

Advanced Teaching Skills
You will refine the craft of teaching with confidence and nuance.
You will be able to:
  • Guide practices with upleveled trauma-informed, inclusive cueing, offering options that are progressive, accessible, and supportive of all bodies.
  • Observe and adapt to students in real time, giving personal suggestions (and physical guidance when appropriate) while maintaining both physical and emotional safety.
  • Create and sequence classes with advanced SAYF methodology, teaching more complex poses safely through progressive pathways and inclusive options.
  • Design compassionate, supportive classes using trauma-sensitive language that helps students feel safe, seen, and supported.

Yoga History, Philosophy & Subtle Energy
You will deepen your understanding of yoga’s roots and its multidimensional nature.
You will be able to:
  • Describe subtle energy systems—including elements, chakras, koshas, and nadis—and teach these concepts authentically when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate and teach pranayama safely, understanding effects, benefits, contraindications, and energetic impact.
  • Pronounce Sanskrit posture names and key terms accurately, demonstrating respect for tradition.
  • Present key teachings from the Yoga Sutras, choosing three principles most meaningful to you and teaching them to others.
  • Teach the 8 Limbs of Yoga to beginner teachers, sharing how they shape practice, lifestyle, and teaching.

Advanced Electives & Special Topic Study
You will customize your training through elective study, such as:
  • The Bhagavad Gita
  • Vijnana Bhairava Tantra / The Radiance Sutras
  • Advaita Vedanta
  • The Yoga Sutras & the yoga of relationship
  • The yamas/niyamas & building a life of trust
  • Postural analysis & body-balancing therapeutics
  • Accessible asana, chair yoga, seniors, body-positive yoga
  • The yoga of sound (Japa Yoga)
  • Restorative, Yin, Yoga Nidra, partner yoga, fascia & lymph
  • Use of the fascial roller as a prop
  • Advanced students also complete a mentor-approved special project in their chosen area of focus.

As a prerequisite, attendees must have a foundational yoga teacher training completed (RYT 200 or equivalent training) AND you will be required to be enrolled in the SAYF Certification as a prerequisite for your attendance in our Advanced Training so there will be consistency in terms of biomechanical terms and understanding, as well as, accessibility options for asana (these hours count toward your overall 300 hours). This insures that you have a solid understanding of our style of teaching regarding sacred energy flow, bandhas and aligning the body from a human movement perspective to help prevent yoga injury.
