Stephanie is inspired by the awareness, acceptance, and transformation that yoga offers. She has seen in others—and experienced herself—how a regular practice cultivates peace, authenticity, connection, and joy.

With deep gratitude for the practice, Steph honors yoga’s tradition in all her teachings. Every three years, she leads a Return to the Source pilgrimage to India, inviting students to study and appreciate yoga at its roots. She brings over 30 years of experience and devotion to this path.

Steph is also the creator of SAYF, an educational program grounded in anatomy, movement mechanics, and injury prevention in yoga asana and other movement practices. SAYF reflects her commitment to helping students sustain a long-term practice that supports both physical well-being and personal transformation.

Some of her credentials include:
• B.S., Washington State University
• 500-hour Yoga Alliance E-RYT
• YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider)
• ACE Certified Personal Trainer (since 1998)
• Bodymind Academy Fitness & Nutrition Certification
• ACE Orthopedic Exercise Specialist
• SAYF-Certified
• CETI Cancer Exercise Specialist
• YogaFit Kids Program/YTT Creator
• Moderation365 Certified Coach
Stephanie’s dedication to the path brought her to fulfilling her dream of opening a studio, training teachers, and building community through yoga. Flow Yoga celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, and continues to thrive and grow in ways she never could have imagined. In 2012, Stephanie, created her own Registered Yoga School called Jaya Yoga Teacher Training. Again, this leap of faith has been greatly rewarded with loyal and loving student teachers who come to train with them from all over the US and Canada.

Since 2000, Stephanie has trained over 12,000 teachers throughout the US and Canada. Because she believes that the best teachers are always students, she has written thousands of pages of educational content and program design, and led trainings in 25 states and 3 provinces. Internationally, in addition to Canada, Stephanie has also led teacher trainings in Mexico, Costa Rica, Bali, Italy, Portugal, and India. She appears with her two daughters in the YogaFit Kids video/DVD, and in the YF Level One, Level Four and Anatomy Training DVDs, and appeared several times on Seattle’s Q13 Morning News show as a yoga resource.

In addition to Stephanie’s yoga background, she holds fitness certifications, including Orthopedic Exercise Specialist (OES), Cancer Exercise Specialist (CES), SAYF Certification, and ACE's Personal Trainer Certificate since 1998. She has a B.S. from W.S.U., and is certified through BodyMind Academy as a Fitness and Nutrition Consultant and served as Faculty there, as well, teaching the fitness component. Stephanie has been a featured presenter at ACSM, NIRSA, TSI Summit, NW YogaFest, DCAC, Spinning, IDEA, and numerous YogaFit MindBody Fitness Conferences. She is registered at Yoga Alliance's highest level, as a 500-hr ERYT and YACEP (this allows her to provide CEs for RYTs who attend her workshops).
