She earned her Bachelor of Science from Utah State University, and is a graduate of National College of Naturopathic Medicine with a Naturopathic Doctoral Degree and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. Melissa has been an AmeriCorps member serving people living in poverty. She was a dental assistant to volunteer dentists, coordinated free exams in local schools and scheduled sedation treatment for qualified children. She has practiced in an integrated clinic with a gynecologist specializing in pelvic pain, surgery, and bio-identical hormones. Her interests include horseback riding, alpine skiing, rock climbing, and yoga.
